Hi guys just droped a 2L AGG. Engine in my mk 2 digi and iv put a new cluch kit it in it was a standerd 210 mm schas cluck off vw heritage and iv had the flywheel lightend to 6.5 pounds from 12 and I'm in the proses of bedding it in and it is starting to slip over 3000RPM is this a bad clutch iv bought or do I need to buy a stage one clutch to deal with the extra power / torque ??

Could just be the way it's adjusted
    Or a bad one
Sometimes you get ones that have had too much taken off the pressure plate

The clutch lever should sit under the 9 o'clock

If it's not you can have trouble adjusting it
It ever slips or you can't get gears

The guy only took the outer lip off the fly wheel and took the heat spots out the pressure plate he never acually took a great deal off :/ and how do you adjust the cluch ?

    If it's manual adjust cable
Just pull the cable up by hand an adjust the slack out

You need a bit of slack though otherwise it'll slip. That might be the problem now

    could be
I only just take the slack up and no more and it's fine

the only time i've had a problem it was a duff pressure plate
and had to adjust it than you would normally had to as the pedal bottomed out before the clutch disengaged

you get the same if the pushrod is worn

factory spec for free play at the clutch lever end is 12mm, you can adjust it a little either way to suit your preference.
but you need to have some play for sure as things heat up and expand it'll be like you're slightly ridign the clutch all the time which isnt good!

what sort of torque figures do you think you're getting? the stock sachs kits can deal with a hefty wedge before they start to slip. more likely you have an oil leak or something not right with the kit as said. Got a stock kit on my ABF and its never missed a beat with 166bhp and 149torques

Clutches don't really 'bed in' if it's right then it'll be good from the word go. Either something is fitted or made wrong or it's contaminated

So it has to be a faulty clutch then because iv just asked the guy how skimmed my flywheel just to make sure but he's told me he's taking nothing off the friction plate :/
