hi there my 55 gti has recently got a missing problem when it is warm. I have read it on my diagnostic equipment and it comes up with the code p0440 which is something to do with the fuel evap system, but what i do not know i have taken it to a garage and they have told me that it needs a coolant temp sensor (the one in the rad) and that there is a problem with the fuel evap system but they didnt look at it properly. does any one know of any common problems with the evap system any help will be greatly appreciated
I have now found the problem with my car it was the carbon canistor had broken up And was restricting the flow for the fuel evap just need to ring vw's now and get the bad news on the cost of it
