170 is for the pair, and well worth it, very nicely finished and much more solid than the std plastic ones, will accept a 6.5" component no problems. I run Focal KX series in mine, lovely! [:D]

I fitted Infinity 5000cs components - roughly 80 from MCS Direct. The consist of a 5.25" mid, tweeters and crossovers.

The 5.25" speaker will fit in the standard door pods, but they are pushed so tight against the grille they can't move properly. I built a couple of MDF 'pods' (see pic below) that fits within the standard door pocket cavity so that the standard grille screws back on over it. These pods are then screwed firmly onto the door card.

The tweeters mount easily in the stock dash locations using a bit of thin MDF with a hole cut out. The crossovers were just tucked up behind the dash.

A few pics of the mid mounting pod.

I complemented it all with new OFC cabling back to the head unit. Sounds so much better than the tired standard speakers, although I have had to spend a lot of time securing stuff within the doors to get rid of all the new rattles that my enhanced bass has shown up!

There's a more detailed post on the old forum but it's not available at the moment.
