Need a second runaround coz my wife keeps taking my Focus ST170 [:x] .

Missing my mk2 8v but want something different. Theres a tidy Corrado 1.8 16v 1991 for sale near whear I live. Are these any good?

What engine do they have, is it the K-jet mk2 golf 16v?
    Are the 0.60 the same as a mk2 16v?
    Handling?

    Cheers,
    Si

    Really you'd want the 2.0 16v model I think.

Corrado's are good cars. Wouldnt mind picking one up myself in the future.

Same engine as the golf, I believe they are a little bit slower than a mk2 though.

The 2.0 16v performs on par with the 1.8 16v Golf GTI

    The 1.8 16v is actually quicker to 60 than the 2.0 16v

I just sold my Rado 16v for 1400. You get a lot of car for the money, very refined, good driving position etc. etc but it aint a golf!

Using a 1.8 16v raddo as me daily driver.

It's comfy, that's the main feature.
Faster than yer vectra's and mondeo's but nowt special.
Turning circle is about the width of a runway.
Look for 36mpg driving like a pussy on the motorway and about 25 to 28 mpg in town.
Just doesn't have the same feedback as the golf gives, sure it's fun for chucking round the lanes but not in the the same league as the mk2.

Simply put, don't compare it to a golf.
Compare it to a mondeo and y'll be happy.

cheers nordoff. Test drove it and decised It wasn't for me. Was quite quick, but the steering feel wasn't what I wanted. Didn't feel like driving on rollerskates like you get in a mk2.

Might look for a 106 gti or a decent mk2
