    Good Morning All,

A typical novice VR owner question here: Can the Cam's be removed without removing the G/box?
In other words is it possible to access the double chain tensioner for removal?

    Thanks

    Luke

The answer is yes they can.

see I've rebuilt an ABV once before however, it was last year and I've done a few engines since then (so it's not exactly fresh in my mind)

is it possible to do so, and then refit them due to the oil pressure actuated cam chain tensioner slackening off enough?

or is it not something that can be reassembled and timed with the g/box in place?

If you remove the bolt and upper tensioner the sprockets can be removed from the cams with the slack in the chain.
Important to make sure that #1 is a TDC (on the pulley mark) and the cut out on the intermediate shaft can be seen from above.
