I'm getting an error when trying to open a word file on my PC:

The document name or path is not valid. Try these suggestions.
*Check the file permissions for the document or drive.
*Use the File Open dialog box to locate the document.

I'm sure I used to be able to open this file, what's happened to it?

    Have you renamed the file?
    Moved the file?
    Deleted the file?

edit: Ok, my reply does look alittle childish compared to gavs quick reply! [:$]

You could try to open the document in Word with the "Files of Type" list box set to "Recover Text From Any File". If the file is corrupted and unrecognised by Word this option will at least give you the original content mixed up with the document information (gobbledegook) that can be deleted.

Microsoft Word is complicated program which has many hidden facilities, but sometimes there are problems after using it. Recently I found a suitable program to solve possible problems.

You may recover word docs owing to word recovery tool. The application owns easy to use and intuitive interface. The software is able to use modern methods of repairing word documents after power failures, hdd crashed, viruses.
