    It was very easy...

I bought some blue LED's meant for sidelights
    [IMG]

Striped off the blue plastic bit and your left with just the LED's and 2 wires (on with the resistor)

Then I removed the bulb holders from the op of the clocks and soldered the wires to the power tracks that run along the top of the cluster. Then pointed the bulb trhough the hole the original lamp went through.

The only problem is that these bulbs have 4 LED's and are too bright. I'v only got onbulb in (over the left dial) but it's bright enough to light the whole cluster.

I need to make the light more even by relocating the bulb to the middle of the cluster but that involves drilling a new hole. also I will use a single LED when I get round to doing it.

That wouldn't work on my MK3 as the LCD's aren't held in a separate holder.

    nope that neither.

Mine has a white plastic cover that goes over the whole of the PCB. The LCD's are inset into it. I've got 2 others from breakers jard and not managed to lift the LCD enough without breaking them [:^(]

Right I see theres a lot of interest in this so I'll get an email sent requesting a model development program for my dials. It's this type: [IMG] (120mph, 7krpm)

Once 25 people all say they want a set as well they start making em. You have to pay 1$ up front which is non refundable if there are not enough orders, which is why I wanted to make sure I'd have backup from you guys :)

Ok, The 'Group Leader' has to post a set of clusters to Speedhut before they will start the pre-order process. The problem is that since they are based in the states it would cost quite a bit to post em, I don't suppose there are any clubgti members in the states who could help out? I could refund any expenses via paypal?

I think speedhut already do MK3 ones! Clickity Click You should be able to buy a set from them no bother.

I was after a group buy so Speedhut would make a set to fit my car you see, but I'm stuck because we need to send a set to them in the US so they can perform the mods necesarry.
