My dashboard lights went out last week when I was moving a heater control. Dont know the reason, but now there is no light working behind the clocks, on the heater controls or in the glove compartment. Checked fuse and it is fine. Got the whole front of the dash off here but can't idntify a problem.

    Earth?
    Relay?

    Please, someone help.

    Cheers

Cheers andy_hot, managed to sort the dials out, fuses totally all over the show and incorrect. Still not got the heater controls to light up though, are they the same fuse or different?

Anyhow, got another problem now, the passenger footwell is pi?sed wet through. Has this anything to do with the heater vents for the windscreen and footwells beign crap with hardly anything if at all coming through them?

The quest goes on to sort all these little niggily problems.

    cheers

water in the passenger footwell can be one of many things, first thing to check is for holes/splits in the scuttle as this will dump water into your fresh air vent if not fitted properly. If you need to replace it VAG still do em and actually have a better quality one made of thicker plastic than ones fitted to older cars.

Check the seal around the bottom of the fresh air intake (passenger side under the scuttle) Also check the dranage holes at either corner of the area under the scuttle are not blocked as water will build up and seep thru any seals.

Oh and check your front doors as the plastic sheets under the doorcards can come away over time and let water in, either get replacments from VAG (how much!?) or use plastic sheeting from BnQ.
