De handling

    Not sure whether this is a securtiy or Styling one but here goes.
    I want to de handle my Mk2 but dont really know how to go about it, Ive seen it done so I know its possible. Can anyone help????

    (PS. Im on a bit of a budget)

    well its gotta be a body shop job unless you have welding skills etc...

    if its a mk1 cab then have one sitting in my garage!

    or stick a set of rear door handles and you get a mix of style and security so long as u have remote central locking

    Aye think the door'd look odd without some sort of handle

    that'd be "de-locking", not "de-handling" ;)

    and it's not just a case of swapping front for rear door handles, you need to knock out the pins on all 4 handles and change the rear cam for the cam that was originally on the front door handles...

    You could always buy them 'Chinese Jetta' handles from VWVortex, updates the doors without the expense of having em de-handled.

    It all comes down to how much effort you want to put in and how much you want to spend...

    I done it on my car.
    See here
    Be sure to get the plate welded in place properly other wise it will crack.
    I used the some centerl lock actuators to operate the door which i linked to my alarm.
    The most expencive bit would be getting the door painted.

    I have some dehandled doors which I am prepping for painting at tme moment. Gonna be fun!
