Those in the know will doubtless laugh at yet another dumb-ass question from Mr T4, but other than the body, what's the difference between a 3 door, Mk2 G60 syncro & a Rallye please? [:s]

no i think g60 synchro's use the same drivetrain as a rallye and as for g60 intercoolers there are 2 types and engine mounted one for aircon and a front mounted one for no aircon

I think it's the same. Rallye has a quicker ratio steering rack though.

oh right, i was under the impression that the rallyes was a bit beefier than the normal Mk2 Golf/Jetta synchro system because the Rallye was designed for motorsport purposes.

Still, i learn something new everyday [:D] ;)

I thought that the mechanicals of a G60 Syncro were the same as a rallye - ie, its a Rallye in disguise - to me they are the sleeper version, no-one can tell its a syncro unless you go looking

They are, apart from the engine and steering.

The Rallye has a bonded windscreen, does the G60 synchro?

Don't the normal G60 have bonded windscreens, would think the synchro has them then as well.

All G60's should have a bonded screen. they are based on US spec mk2's. all g60's shold have the bigger tunnel too, syncro or not.
