just remembered when my clutch cable snapped in my old zx, it broke about 30 mins from alton towers but I still got back to cornwall with just third gear somehow, managed to only stop once for fuel and pull away still in third - and who says french cars are unreliable! mine was a 3dr lowered with sticky yoko's and it handle way better than any vw i've owned even my current one on coilovers! come to think of it why do I own veedubs? oh yeah 'cause I fookin' love um

That's great, I bet it wasn't just rubber and burning clutch they could smell in the car!

mk1 1.1 - i paid 103 on ebay for it as a non runner.... 20min work an ht lead an it was running and fffin great. i stupidly sold it for 400 to a kid who trashed it in a matter of weeks and have never seen it since[:^(]

and this, which although is looking rather sorry for itself but its a car i dont think i could bring myself to sell

i took it off the road over a year ago to do the head gasket... then it just spiraled out of control and ive rebuilt the engine and all sorts.

i recon youll miss the predictability and reliability most. i find it so easy to take it for granted when you have a bullet proof car. i dont think i could live without it really

i think the only car ive really missed in the past was my grey a4 diesel lol

thats why it is going to sit on the sisters drive while i decide what to do with it.

if i miss it that much and dislike the BM then that'll go and i'll keep the audi.
