I'm after a passenger ride in one, preferably one on factory management with remap. I live in Rochdale.

Does anyone have such a beast and be willing to chauffer me round for 10minutes?

    Cheers:thumbup:

I`ve got one. You could sit on the floor where the passenger seat should be while I make wooo-tish noises from the other side...

Or you could give me your engine and i'll take you for a drive!!!

My latest idea in my head is to not insure or tax the car in january(Save 500), sell the VR engine, box loom (Earn 400) Sell coilovers (Earn 100). Build it back up mint and fit a turbo engine, I almost bought a spares/repair mk4 last night.

I had a mk4 turbo before the mk2 and I liked the way it drove but prefered the look of the mk2. I do like the vr but i'm not sure its running right and I think i'd prefer the 1.8t.

24V all the way! I thought you got the VR6 running right in the end?

Fair play. I had an A3 1.8t before I got my Passat, I think they're a very impressive engine but just a bit dull to have in a MK2. Saying that I haven't heard one with a decent exhaust and all the whistle pop and bang from the turbo

I could do with having a go in a Vr MK2 really as I still trying to decide to go ABF or VR6! I'm bloody hopeless.

It runs 100 times better than it did but still doesn't feel very fast at all. I might bite the bullet and take it to Awesome

Would be worth doing I think! Need to make sure it's running 100% before you go and decide to put a bone dry 1.8t in ;)

Yeah, your right. I'll ask Stu to enquire about it, they seem to like him.

Could always put a 16v final drive to shorten the ratios for quicker acceleration

Did you not have it it re-dyno'd in the end?

Good point. If I got VR6 I will have lightened flywheel and lower final drive. I guess yours is standard 1990?

To be honest my VR6 I know is more than capable to show most hot hatches a clean pair of heels. So not super duper fast, but when I know I can take out the usual Civic Type R's, Clio 182's etc... its quick enough for me.

If your engine is actually in a good state of health and you actually want more speed, 2nd hand chargers go around not too much sometimes and can be done easily!

Mines standard except for the exhaust. I might try VRbanana, i'd trust him much more than Awesome.

Going back to the Op, there us a lad in Hyde (Tameside) who has a red mk2 T, his car is featured in vw driver mag in next issue, unfortunately I don't know if he frequents this site. Thanks harryvr6.
