Yup, they closed over the weekend. I'm trying to get hold of Allan to see if there's any chance of keeping it going.

If you still want a DTA ECU, I know a couple of people who have some in stock. As long as you don't want any repairs doing...

^^The ECUs tend to be pretty ok and reliable actually. So you will be fine!

Thankfully I've got everything I paid for, I just assumed they were doing really well but just goes to show really you never know.

I have just heard this also, I would be interested in joining forces to keep DTA going. I have 15+ years experience of electronic design, manufacture & repair with two MEng degrees in the electronic industry. So these systems would be an interesting venture if we had the approval from the directors.

I would even be interested in "buying" the company design rights, circuit schematics etc from them if someone had a way of contacting the right people about it.

It's very likely to be kept going. I've met with Allan, and he has a few offers on the table. It's whether he wants to pass it on or not.
I'll hopefully know more this week.

I doubt it would need much financial backing to get it going again. Just needs the time spent on it and a different business model.
Looking at the website it looks like it got stuck in the 90's which might explain why rival systems over-took it. I hope it can get off the ground, Alex (Sparrow) would be a great person to have on board:thumbup:

I don't believe they went 'bust', he simply closed it down - different things. As far as I understand no one was deliberately left out of pocket.

From what I heard there are more and more people buying stand alone systems and less and less people actually understanding what to do, hence more time solving other peoples problems than actually developing/selling product. Just ran out of enthusiasm.

    Just what I heard.

I agree, It seems to me that way also. It was dissolved not owing anything so i guess the directors just didnt want to continue :)

It ceased trading, not went bust. Nothing owing to anyone.

The guy I bought mine off who was a distributor for DTA is telling me that they haven't gone bust but closed the business down. Not sure what to believe after what I'm reading here. Also he told me that I no longer have a warranty on my new ecu.

well that's not strictly true depending how long you have had it

if you had bought this two weeks ago and had just fitted it and found it didn't work
the retailer would have to replace or repair it if he can't he would have to give you your money back
