I am thinking about ordering and installing a pedal box, am looking for comments/input on this bit of gadgetry. Is it merely a box of resistors etc. that puts a higher voltage across the sensors, thus tricking it to believe a firmer pedal effort is being applied?
Get a professional map done. Sorry to be that blunt. MK7 and MQB cars can be custom remapped via the OBD port to meet your expectation.
superchips Blufin for example, say they cannot remap via the obd port, because vw have 'locked' the ecu.
No those companies cannot. As I said it is being done, if the mapper invests in then right tools for the job.
I tried one on my GTD. Sold it soon after. It just makes the throttle opening condensed into less of the pedal travel. So throttle wide open happens before the end of the pedal travel. Its not something many mappers will bother changing. Not worth it at all in my opinion.
