if it is a 45 i might ditch it and go back to turbos!! thought supercharging would be a interesting change.

    This is a M45 W203 (C Class) supercharger

Use the graph for M45 to workout your speeds and pulley ratio on the engine and then work on a solution for a custom pullysize to deliver the coolest airflow to make the power and torque.
This system can be made to work just that it is not as efficient as a turbochraged system with similar airflow chracteristics. You have to do your homework though.

Custom pullies can be made by the way. You have to think out of the box ;)

I see your're encouraging people to think for themselves, which is definitely needed if you're gonna take on projects like this.

That is what I'm currently building onto my mk2 ABF.
I agree with tshirt2k on this. You really have to apply alot of maths and knowledge into just building from scratch.

i'm on my phone, but if that's the pic of your car Tommy then sorry to say its a m45. 3 That eaton is good for 200ish on the merc's 1.8 engines. Merc std pulley is 210mm.

    Why?

Who says it will not work?

Plus you have the expense of replacing hardware to update to turbo.

That is the attitude I have applied whilst building mine. I'm using the exact same charger and on standard pulleys.
But things can be improved upon on the setup if looked at carefully.

well guys at least i know why none of my calcs worked out as was based around M62 and 1ltr per rev doing the sums based around the M45 it pretty much works out! i think i will continue to develop the supercharger pulley ratio to acheive the best i can out of the engine as is. i always planned to combine supercharging and turbo charging at some point as can never leave anything alone for long so will prob start playing with it around xmas. i am in the lucky position to have alot of turbos etc kicking around from past projects and friends with dynos and very well equiped workshops.

Thanks everyone for your advice it has been gratfully received and i hope to see some of you over the summer at various shows i am going to try and attend.
