Hmm for those that are unsure.

Pre 1986 hip hop. ( The real stuff, none of the rubbish around after that, that some try and label old school )

What have you got and what do you know [:?:]

A fair bit, it's what I grew up on. Mostly vinyl but put a bit on mp3. What you after?

    No problem

I don't have this on vinyl; d/loaded it along with the other 2 Double Dee Lessons when I first got b/band. Used to have all of these on tape  with radio jingles all over them!

Go to www.jamonproductions.com, the vault section and d/load the early Newcleus demo tapes. They give an insight into how it was back then. Destination Earth is better than the released version!

 Fantastic! I love it all but my knowledge is limited to the more "known" stuff like Herbie Hancock, Al-Naafyish, Man Parrish etc etc...

    Someone recommend some more!

You won't go wrong with Newcleus stuff (though some of the stuff on their first LP isn't even them, and is poorer than theis 'proper' tracks!) Jam On It, The Wikki Wikki Song, Computer Age, Destination Earth etc.

Afrika Bambaataa's usual stuff: Planet Rock, Perfect Beat, Frantic Situation, Renegades... etc.

    Planet Patrol

    Jonzun Crew

    Cybotron

    Arthur Baker

    Captain Rock

    Knights of the turntables

    Egyptian Lover

    West St Mob

    Warp 21, etc. etc...

Probably best to try d/loading any of the early Streetsounds LP's (upto 5 say) for Electro. I have the lot on mp3 but the upload speed of a dead snail.

'kin 'ell how spooky is this.

I have sent a few emails to Cozmo-D last week and am waiting for postie to bring a couple of those CD's they have for sale. Ben is kindly signing them for me as well ;) I remember blasting out 'Jam On' back in the heyday through my old beatbox lol

I have quite a bit of stuff including some original Mike Allen capital FM tapes + some Tim Westwood tapes from the days of LWR 92.5 fm when it was all pirate. I am in the middle of encoding them as we talk.

I have all the street sounds + crucials & essentials etc + loads of loose pre 86 stuff, Wildstyle etc

let me know if you need anything, I may be able to help ;)

I'm af135 wherever I go. I read that forum a lot, but don't know anywhere near enough to meaningfully contribute!

Yep, a very small world, it would seem!

In that case, look out for my other tapes on mp3 when I get them done. I'll post them there :p

Been into it for a long time and only recently thought about looking for a forum. It seems the best one out there with a lot of actual original artists posting..

Yeah that's the best bit about that forum, plus the likes of Phunky Junction posting just about anything and everything ever requested!

Got some info from there from JayQuan about Hushtours, a tour around the Bronx, etc. where Old School legends give the tour. I'm going on it in a couple of weeks time - can't wait! There's even a section where they give you a fat gold chain and a Kangol for a group photo! LOL
