Can the k3 be set up to use 4 individual coil packs rather than a single large unit? Currently the engine runs fine on a single coil pack mounted where the dizzy would be(16v) but I’m thinking of tidying the engine bay a little seeing as it’s all coming out for paint.
Good evening Martin! Emerald say they can. "The K6 ECU has six injector drivers and six ignition drivers and has been designed to run engines with between 1 and 12 cylinders. Common engine configurations are shown below: 4 cylinder engine with batch-fired, semi-sequential or sequential fuel injection with ignition via distributor, 4 cylinder coil pack (wasted spark), or sequential via either individual coils/Coil on Plug (1 per cylinder). An example setup might be a Honda S2000 engine with 4 injectors sequentially fired and an additional 4 injections semi-sequentially fired with ignition via Coil on Plug."
got a K3 manual here which also which shows 4x injector and igniter drivers, can take cam and crank sensor inputs. speak to emerald direct they have been helpful to me in the past with supplying wiring diagrams for whatever application customer has asked for. I've done several K3 and K6 looms over the years
