Hi , Golf is a 1988 8v but had a look at a lot and none have engine that look like this one except one That is a late run out model with the oil filler on opposite side to the Cambell cover and different Type rocker cover fitted which is silver in colour, has anyone had any experiences with these ?thoughts please ? Thanks
does it have a block breather on the front? or a plate covering it, will be a large or 2 piece affair rather than the usual fuel pump blank. pics if unsure

Hi this is engine bay, seller ensures me it’s correct and number matches V5, thoughts please? Kind Regards .
Looks like a 2.0 timing belt cover. Right style injection, it's not the standard mk2 rocker cover though, they're pressed Tin.
Hi Tristan, thanks for reply, car was previously owned by someone in the forces so if engine is original maybe it could have be purchased in Germany, just a guess, I have seen the same looking rocker on a k reg mk2 but that’s the only one. thanks Patrick.
The 2.0 swap has been performed on mk2s since Moby Dick was a Tadpole, so it's very common to see that in a mk2 bay, even if it's not the original engine.
