hello, i have a 2.0L 8V golf gti mk3 and i was thinking to myself how wuld i enhance my performance i dont have alot of money to spend (very little money), any ideas everything is welcome , anything tht i culd do myself on the backstreet?
not a lot imo any money spend would be money better spend on another engine. you could spend money getting it up to 150bhp, but that money could get a 16v closer to 200bhp etc. not good VFM IMO TBH HTH Matt
take out all the interior every unneccercary bit of weight that should make the car significantly faster and its free!
pfft can u feed the car viagra? lol , kk so change HT leads will that really help performance? thats the leads conected to the spark plugs? and i wuldnt take the interrior out cause the GTI is a concept with the yellow and black wacky leather interrior sooo thats a big no no lol
no changing the ht leads won't do anything unless yours are old and rubbish, its just a joke as peole pay big for some HT leads thinking they will make a big difference or just like to think it looks cool
Right on a serious note, improving the performance on a mk3 8v gti for cheap.....the cheapest real noticable mod will prob be a new cam still not super cheap but you will notice the difference. Otherwise go the normal route of improving cold air induction and gettting a better exhaust system will make a small difference but nothing that will blow your mind. Not a very tunable car without spending big bucks!
I think the HT leads come into play when you are putting in something like an MSD ignition and either using their 7 or 8mm leads or TAYLOR leads.
