Good evening all, Would a 2012 Volkswagen Polo 1.2 petrol with 60 bhp get up steep hills in a hurry without having to rev the guts out of the engine? I'm considering buying one and put my MK2 GTI away to work on it properly. I suppose I'm looking for economy, but at not too much of a performance compromise ie - I don't want to struggle up hills. Thanks in advance.
My 19991 litre Polo was a barrel of laughs, ended up running it as my commuter car for a couple of years. Learnt a lot about carrying 'speed' through corners. I say go for it
If it's the same 3 cylinder engine as found in my mum's old 2003 Polo (though hers was 55hp) I remember on the dual carriage way hills having to move over and find myself slowing down until I was back in 3rd gear just to keep at 60mpg
Good morning all. Happy new year, and apologies for abandoning my own thread! Anyway, I've picked myself up a MK6 Golf TDI now as a daily and will be finally tucking my MK2 away so that I can do a proper job on it. I gave this MK6 a good test run and fits what I need exactly.....even has a DAB radio. I must be going up in the world! lol
