if it's for the boot then just use the carpet as a template.

then look at where you need to make adjustments by trial fitting it.

hell not sure if this going to work as first timer. here goes...
i built total boot install by first making fibre glass sub enclosures to slot into each side of boot utilising all space round wheel arches. these had a slightly sloping face from top to bottom but straight from front to back.
it was then a fairly simple task to make a rectangular false floor enclosure for all amps etc with lid and perspex windows too see inside.
this design will actualy slot in and firmly hold itself in place without requiring any drilling or fixing to the floor. it also allowed easy access to the spare wheel just in case.
I have photos if someone can tell me how to post them.

Like previously mentioned use the boot carpet as a template for cutting the false floor.

I've only got a third of the way in to my install and mine's a mk3, but head over to this thread if you want to see my plans and pics:-

Mines nowhere near as smart looking as macksimus' install though - not yet anyhows :)

    Cheers,

    Dave.

woah - hold on - i can't take the credit for marinemitch's work - that's HIS install - i just helped out with getting the pic to show!:p

though i'm doing mine this week so watch this space...

marinemitch - when you're on the photobucket website, there are 3 boxes of text uder each photo. pick the middle one and paste it all into where you write your message. it should begin and end with

just ignore the "insert image" button in the "reply to thread" window. you don't need it if you do it the way i said above.

nt very clear but hope it helps

sorry for no reply my modem packed in!
i will try to post other photos onto site for you to see, but basicaly...
sub boxes were made by removing all boot fittings carpet etc and giving all painted surfaces a damm good polish to help prevent any stray resin sticking.
then using a strong turkey size tin foil, mould this around the wheel arches and up underneath the side shelfs. macke sure to avoid any areas where seatbelt will run.
extend the foil onto the flat peice of floor as much as required.
now comes the fun part. starting at the bottom build up layers of fibreglass so to end up with a rigid mould of area.as strong a structure as posible will help with the final sound.once you have this done you then begin to blend the fibre glass to the front board, using the hole for the sub 10" to access the inside. this is a bit tricky!!!
thats all for now have to go to bed.
