Does anyone know what this fault code is for. It came up the other day and I reset it. On Monday evening it came up again and but this time the car did not start. It been in the garage and they cannot find a problem. It started fine tonight but I am waiting for it to let me down.
    Any thoughts?

    What car is it?

That's a code to check the dtcs in the instrument cluster, is it a generic code reader you are using and if so does it read live data?

I have a full version of vagcom so I can do logging. I am not sure what i need to log though. I did look at the measuring blocks whilst tying to start the car the temperature measurement went from 6C to 195C even though it was a cold day. Also the car is a New Beetle 1.9 TDI 2004.

    thinking about it
it would be had to start if the coolant temp sensor was duff
as the glow plug and all that would not come on as it thinks the engine is hot
