is it possible to get yourself a flip key - blank, the have it cut to manually unlock your car, but also re-program the alarm or key for remote use also?

Yeah its possible & has been done before, converting an AH key to fit the flip fob is easy enough (buy a suitable blank, chop, cut, file in a vice to fit using HAA key as a template) takes 30mins max.
Swapping the gubbins from 1 remote to the flip fob is another matter though, make sure you have another spare for starters (no offence but you'll probably knack it,i know i would) then you'll have to split the flip and remove swap all the bits etc..
Can be done but not for the average "tinkerer" IMO

You make it sound so easy

Yes thats all you have to do, BUT you may have to trim down to alarm fob innards to make it fit in the Audi key fob. But doing that you may have to cut through some of the circuits.

Then you will have to make sure the button on the Audi makes contact with the alarm button inside.

Good luck on it. Take some pics if you do it. I would be interested in this myself.

nah this is getting a mk4/5 flip key, swapping the key itself onto the flip mech, then replacing the remote innards of the flip key with the alarm innards from the alarm fob (put simply).

I got a key cut from the local shop then cut it down.

This guide shows you how to do the key but not the alarm. It was dead easy, only took 20 mins.
