Do these actually exist any more?

    That preferably won't :

    • bend after giving it one press with your foot
    • have the valve/hose connection (or anywhere else) start leaking if you look at them
    • have a gauge that doesn't tell bare-faced lies
I've had a few (too many) Draper ones that die within weeks (months if you're lucky)

Just try and find one on Amazon that doesn't have **** reviews (and no that's not four star ;) ). I currently have a laser one (the highest rated on Amazon) and am still not impressed, I just know it's going to die before too long.

When mine fell apart I used a floor standing bike pump. Works a treat, and look less like a twerp when using it!

No not seen a good one for years
I gave up and got a small compressor that works off the fag lighter
The one I got came from Costco

Also you can get OEM ones from some Ford's VW's and vauxhall's you see lots of them on eBay cheap
They all look much the same as the one for the r32
Just not got the it's tax

The only good foot pumps I've seen are old classic car ones lol the old boy had one for his MG tc

Been using the Michelin one for over a year now and it's not bad. The rubber feet have worn away and the double barrel makes light work when inflating. Have you considered a plug-in type?

I have had a michelin double barrel one since 2008 and it is still going strong. I also have a Bontrager 'track pump' (floor standing cycle pump) which is still in one piece as well.

Michelin it may be then (despite appalling Amazon reviews)

I like the idea of of the cigarette lighter pumps, but they were noisy and slow the last time I tried one (many years ago)

The mini compressor i use takes about 3 mins to pump a tyre up from flat. It does sound fairly loud when your pumping a tyre up at half 6 in the morning lol

and it can screw your cars batt in that time. Remember to have the engine running, or you end up with a full tyre but flat batt ;) as the guy 2 doors up from me found out.

I had the Michelin single barrel one for a couple of years, it had moderate use as we have the corroded alloy/slow leak issue on both our cars - then the spring snapped. Disappointing.

Replaced with a cheap Torq from B&Q which is made of butter and has already gone sideways - but seems to have a nice action. Very unlikely to last!

Are double barrels worth the investment?!

I would prefer to chop the cigarette lighter connection off and use crocodile clips on the battery.
