Front and rear foglights - MK3

    My R Reg MK3 GTI keeps popping the fuse for the front and rear foglights.

    Has anyone any ideas?? it has a 15amp fuse at present is this correct

    You need to get your trusty multimeter out, and measure the resistance of all the wiring. If the fuse keeps popping, then it implies that you are drawing too much current.

    If you have uprated bulbs in any of the lights, put the standards ones back in now.

    Don't put a bigger fuse in, as the headlight switch on the Mk3 is pretty delicate, and they keep blowing at the cost of 50 a shot.

    Thanks for that, my car has just gone in for a service and MOT, so i'm waiting for the call to say its failed.

    Looks like i'm going to have to call my friendly local auto elecy!!
