Fuel gauge - what values do the lines represent

Always found it weird how the fuel lines are unevenly spaced on the gauge. Also there are three white dots above it

Obviously it varies based on the fuel tank capacity, but how much does each line represent? How much is left once you got the start of the red section?

Presumably the gauge 'uneven' level points represent the tank shape and gauge non linearity. If the tank is 20L
    the 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 represent nominal 5,10,15.
On my rally cars, I use a 'gauge wizard' enabling me to get much closer to real world values, so allowing me to run with minimal
fuel, hence minimum weight. 50 quid well spent IMHO

Small world! Was recently looking into calibration of additional gauges - extra VDO oil temp. one is out of step with the cars own MFA reading.

Anyhow also saw this in the same literature.

Didn't follow up on it other than to watch a few Youtube vids... Could stand to be corrected but looks like you can maybe recalibrate fuel tank senders to gauges by resetting the relevant inputs.

The dots seem to be there to help with tolerances while doing it.
