    Hi!

Is there a p&p upper hose to ABF conversion? I have 1.8 8v rad with shortened G2 1.8 upper hose, but im not satisfied with the cooling and the angle of it.

the original 8v hose is fine, its all I've ever used. as you say cut it down and flip the other way job done. if the system isn't cooling correctly, you have some other issue. is it running too hot?

Yes, the fan turning on after a few minutes city run and there is just 20-22 celsius outside. Cooling temp goes up 1/2 - 3/4.

RJ is right - I would flush the radiator as more than likely there will be crud in there that is affecting it's ability to keep the block cooler.

Thermostat was replaced not long ago. Then i looking after a replacement rad. I guess a flush would help also, but the current one is pretty ugly. Thanks guys.
Are they all the same above 1.3petrol?

Certainly, sounds like a bad radiator, but also for the cost of a thermostat replace that also, you should be around half way or a bit more after that ,can't remember when the aux fan comes on but think it would be 3/4 on gauge and should quickly go back to half way reading and the fan turned off via the rad temp sensor.
    Cheers.

I replaced the thermostat housing to G2 type, but the lower coolant hose looking worse then before. Which one is the direct fit?

looks like your hose has been cut, or is just not correct. you need the original, uncut lower hose part number 191121051F

My upper rad hose sit higher than the rad inlet. Is it okay when its running? Because on idle the hose feels empty, and i have maybe some boilong issues right now, but the car wasnt testet yet on the road, just in garage on idle.

try flipping it the other way round, maybe will need a little trimming down if its the stock 8v hose. you may get a small air bubble there, but you can just push the hose down till its lower than the rad to clear it

one thing though, I dont see a nipple for the header tank? if that rad hasnt got one, you can do what I did and fit a MK4 golf plastic elbow with nipple for your take off. I have a g60/toledo rad but you get the idea

Yes, the nipple is missing, thats why i used the stock ABF upper hose. With the standard 8v hose was better. Thanks for the idea  20230511_175500.jpg
