hey, i've got a 1992 gti mk3 2 litre 8 valve... well sometimes when i drive it i can't get into 2nd gear properly. It's like there's a brick wall there but i can get it after some heavy shifting. It's only 2nd gear that seems to do this. Any suggestions?

Check linkages and if all is ok then get another gearbox.

Have you changed the g/box oil recently. I did that and the shifts went crxp until I got a tip-off about using Redline mtl - now its gorgeous [:*:], but expensive (like a high class 'lady of the night')

I dont use redline MTL, I flush the box out with cheapass gear oil
over a week of use then fill it with regular gear oil of good quality, it
seems to work a treat and doesnt crunh into gear and feels slick as
