you still bored tim? if so you can do me a new sig, i want my golf in it mainly then my old mk1 in too some pics if you need any others let me know cheers
no mate, i wish i could do stuff that good-thats a rendering of the gm graphyte concept shown recently. I think it was done by dale grewer(sp) who is a bit bloody nifty at car design. if you pop down to the clay studios at cov, mines the nissan shooting brake/4x4/sports car thing. Edited by: beaniegti
you need to use a combination of paths, selections and airbrushes. if i were you i'd try simply rendering a photo of a car, rather than designing one straight away. this way you'll get an understanding of lighting/toning the car and using the tools without having to worry about perspective/proportion or the design. if you can draw a bit then you could try 'colouring in' one of your sketches, though imo, a looser style often works better on these
new??!! you seem to do alright from what i've seen paths- the tool that looks like a fountain pen nib (pen tool(P)) these are freehand paths. the tool next to that which will be a filled-in circle, square etc is for preset path shapes. they are used for creating outlines for shapes or for drawing shapes filled with colour (this can be set towards the top left of the toolbar when a path tool is selected) as you set the points with the pen tool hold and drag-this allows curves to strung between points rather than straight lines also, all points can be edited using ctrl key and mouse I could write an essay on how to do renderings but the best way is to have a play, its the only way to find a way of working that suits you.
oh ok sounds like a laugh, ill have a go some time, do you have any useful links?! or any tutorials i have have a butchers over?! i havent got PS on this PC so you wont see any cardesigns from me tonight! tim
its one of those things you'll love or hate- try cardesignnews it has loads of examples of (mostly student) work in the portfolio section, some very good. best to look under editors pick or top rated as there is a huge amount of poo on there. don't know of any tutorials i'm afraid. if you get really stuck pm me edit-side views are the easiest to get started with Edited by: beaniegti
hmm- not masses of photoshopped stuff it would seem-always thought there was more-though because i look on there quite regularly i've seen all the images in the portfolios a few times plus the features etc so it seems like more. nevermind-i'll see what i've got on my hd Edited by: beaniegti
