Hi all, looking for some advice on top mount upgrades for a mk2 golf. I'm running KW variant 1 coilovers with g60 top mounts. The car isn't excessively low, but I seem to be forever wearing out the top mounts. I was wondering if there was an upgrade I could do ?

Hi Tristan, thank you for the reply. I think I looked into this a while ago, but got confused about the various part numbers, and if they work with coilovers. Am I right in thinking it's early mk3 vr6 parts that are used ?

I just ordered the part numbers in the thread tbh, so I'm not sure.
Any car I fitted them to had ordinary type dampers I'm afraid.

for coilovers all you need is bearing, special nut and top mount plus maybe the upper ratiaing cup thing. you dont need the upper spring plate so no need to worry about early/late

you do need to check the bearing runs nicely on the coilover spring plate because not all of them will accept mk3 top mount kits
