golf mk3 steering rack change - can it be done without lowering subframe?

    as title as my rack is leaking heavily, ill remove steering arms from rack and hubs and UJ joint from the interior, looks like ill have enough space to slide it out? ive had the subframe off it before but dont want to drop it again, cheers chaps!

    its your best chance of doing it aye, arms off and fingers crossed it'll slide out. Might need to remove the rear mount and bracket driver side to give you extra room to pull it out driver side if it wont come past the gearbox.

    with the arms on we struggled to get a PAS rack into my mates mk2 even with the engine out :lol:
