Golf VR6 Dash ’Fault light’

I thought the golf vr6 had a fault light (MIL) in the dash which lights up when a problem is detected in the motronic engine management.

This is a picture of my dash with ignition on.

Can any one with a MK3 tell me where it is please...I want to display 'blink codes'. Are these just for US cars ?

a CEL, check engine light? never seen one in the UK, I only hear of them on Vortex.

still at least no stupid light blinking every 5 minutes.
