Daft. What would he have got for the G60 arches? About 50? Look at the mess its made taking them off. He should have left the arches on, swapped the wheels, lights and interior and stuck it on at 99p no reserve.
Indeed....modifying is a mugs game really. Only point of doing it for your own enjoyment....and most sensible way is to buy second hand upgrades IMO.
Current owner goes to the vw meet at the ricoh arena in coventry but has never once taken that car down, he always used to turn up in a 1.1 mk1!

I believe he sold it not longer after that. Certainly, speaking to him at the time, it was for sale. (in fact it may have been Harewood `07...) Wondered where it had ended up, having not seen it since...
