    such a waste. he had it up for about 5800. you can't tell me he's made 3400 from selling the wheel, trim and rallye front end!

    Indeed. When i saw it up for sale a few months back i wished i had the spare readies. Was a great car.

    Just proves you cant get the money back that you put into these projects.

    Its still a Golf at the end of the day[8(]

    Daft. What would he have got for the G60 arches? About 50? Look at the mess its made taking them off.

    He should have left the arches on, swapped the wheels, lights and interior and stuck it on at 99p no reserve.

    I have seen g60 arch sets finsish for 250 quid and more on ebay recently

    Indeed....modifying is a mugs game really.

    Only point of doing it for your own enjoyment....and most sensible way is to buy second hand upgrades IMO.

    Current owner goes to the vw meet at the ricoh arena in coventry but has never once taken that car down, he always used to turn up in a 1.1 mk1!

    saw him at harewood but not the car,now i know why,i saw this for the 1st time in 2006 at harewood and iirc he came runner,up that car was sweet,on the way out he cained it ,what a noise that made cant believe im seeing it in that state

    thats my mate dave in the background,misfit vw gang leader :lol:

    I believe he sold it not longer after that. Certainly, speaking to him at the time, it was for sale. (in fact it may have been Harewood `07...)

    Wondered where it had ended up, having not seen it since... :thumbd:
