headlight help

    turned the headlights on my mk3 golf vr6 and they decided to torn off,now i only have sidelights or fullbeam,any ideas what it could be?

    Switch in the indicator stalk ?

    Happened on my Mk2 where i couldn't keep full beam on..

    Just a suggestion not a definate answer

    no as my fullbeam works fine,could it be the switch or is there a relay

    If your full beam works when you pull back the column switch, but nothing else makes either the dipped or full beams come on - then it is your headlight switch.

    They blow pretty often. If it has blown then it is worth changing the column switch as these are the main cause of the headlight switches dying.

    New switch:
    65 from VW (with 2 year guarantee)
    55 from ECP/GSF
    15 from a famous auction site - the name of which is censored by this forum.
