Think i posted this on the old forum!

    But here goes!

My heater only blows on the 3rd setting, i know the resistor pack has blown!

Now can i replace this with a normal resistor and where is the resistor pack!

    Cheers

resistor pack is on the side of the blower motor

extract the motor and disconnect the plug - there's your resistor. Prise out with blunt screwdriver.

You talking about the bottom of the Heater unit.. undo the clip and twist clockwise thing!

    Or somewhere else!

Do you know if its possible to place the just the resistor?

yes just the bottom of the unit. undo the clips and twist. it is possible to just replace the resitor (do not pay VW prices! use GPC or similar). remember to grease the motor (as per this months The Golf magazine - BUT DO NOT USE WD40 as the idiot suggested) as this is a contributing factor to resitor failure (too much resitance!)
