Hi All, Been building some golfs in Auckland NZ. I just sold my 20v MK2, Also have a MK1 track car on ITB's running on megasquirt. Had a couple of nice valver MK2's over the years. And a few air cooled beetles. No Rallyes here so I'm building a replica with a 20v. On the hunt for some bumpers! They finally built Hamptons downs? It was under construction when i lived there. Where do you live in Auckland? nice looking mk1, they are few and far between out there.

Quality build you've got there. The handle on the dash - is that a hand control for the brakes, or an ingeniuos bias mechanism? I can't quite see the pivot point.
lefty righty handbrake in the interest of gymkhanas Have bias valve also which runs after the lever now.
Haven't had much chance to use it Chris, but it does help settle the rear end of the car on fast sweepers if you feather the outside wheel it helps hold the line. I have recently sent the car to a friend who mainly works on F5000 re-builds he started to corner weight it and decided the rear beam was the weakest link and has developed some rear camber/ castor adjustment, reduced the rear spring rate to 250lbs. And added a bar that is close to the back of seats and a couple of new gussets to lock the cage to the shell. Got a fiat uno single wiper motor in there. And have made some heavy duty strutt braces upper and lower in the front.
I've been searching the web for a rallye front bumper for my project... Proving difficult to find one. I am happy to repair a damaged skin or pay for a decent one. I have a spare rallye slam panel and grill if someone needs that as part trade? Cheers Brendon
I remember my friend telling me I had it easy when it came to modding cars. The rules in NZ would just put me off
i dont think there is any Rallyes here in Oz either love your builds, only wish people would do things like this over here in Oz the VW scene is crap!!!!
