    Hey Peeps,

So long story short, did a track day and the oil hit some serious temp, car cut out and i coasted in, let it cool started it and all was fine. Sat idled n revved with no problems.

Driving home and all of a sudden it started making this noise.

Now since then its had the clutch changed, oil changed, cam cover off and checked, no swarf in oil or head and cam lobes are fine.

Is this just crazy noisy tappets which need replacing or something more sinister?

    Thanks Dan.

Could be the lifters. I had the same issue, with brand new ones. My ABF made this noise:

I pulled the cams out and tried to push on the lifters one by one, while they were still in the cylinder head. You can notice if there is a/there are bad lifter(s), when you can push it in by hand.
