Hi everyone I’d just like introduce myself and give you all a little insight into me and what I’m about.
I’ve been a Volkswagen, Audi and Ford enthusiast for as long as I can remember and currently playing with a few Volkswagens and a very special Ford Sapphire.
I’ve never been impressed by what manufacturers offer as standard and have never owned anything which hasn’t been modified in some way (predominantly to increase performance and handling).

You'll fit right in here so!
Concours isn't really a thing on CGTI. And lots of non- GTI drivers here too

Been helped so much by everyone here, really appreciated.

Welcome! What model of Saph do you have? I have had a couple of Sapphire Cosworths in my time - lightly modded.

    Hello and welcome - I'm a big fan of OEM/Standard ('91 Mk2 GTI, '86 e28 518i & '90 190e 2.6) but to be fair to the gang here - they still put up with me..[:D]

    Thank you for the welcome.
My Sapphire started out as a 1.8 Chasseur that I bought as just the body shell with doors, boot lid and all of the glass. Everything else from the car got removed to be fitted to a Robin Hood lotus 7 type of kit car by the previous owner.
The spec as of now is as follows:-
Sapphire Cosworth 4x4 lookalike with full heated Grey leather Recaro interior and air conditioning.
Mitsubishi evo 7 Enkei wheels with buddy club forged aluminium wheel nuts,
Granada 2.9 4x4 front and rear hubs,
    Granada 2.9 4x4 front subframe,
Cosworth 4x4 steering rack and steering column,
    Granada Cosworth front antiroll bar,
    Escort Cosworth rear antiroll bar,
Granada 2.9 Cosworth rear subframe and associated suspension components,
Granada 2.9 Cosworth rear limited slip differential,
Fully poly bushed from front to back including all suspension bushes, engine mounts, gearbox mounts, differential mounts and subframe mounts.
Fully adjustable for bump, rebound and spring preload AVO coil overs,
Cosworth 4x4 full body wiring harness,
    Cosworth 4x4 ABS system,
345mm front brake discs with Brembo 4 piston calipers with mintex brake pads,
300mm rear discs with Scorpio Cosworth rear calipers with mintex brake pads,
New copper nickel rigid brake and fuel pipes from front to back,
Hell flexible brake hoses front and rear,
Scorpio Cosworth BOB engine block bored to 3.1 with mahle forged pistons, Williams racing forged con rods, and fitted with a stainless steel main cap brace with ported Granada Cosworth BOA cylinder heads and full BOA Cosworth timing chest and associated components, every stressed bolt including main cap, big end and cylinder head bolts, ACL race spec bearings, Melling uprated oil pump, BOB cams and cam sprocket locators, multilayered steel head gaskets and stainless wire rung heads.
The engine is built for boosted application so I’m going to be fitting it with a pair of custom stainless steel tubular exhaust manifolds and a pair of GT3076r turbochargers which will take care of the exhaust side of things.
On the intake side of things I’m going rather unconventional with 2 sets of triumph speed triple throttle bodies and custom aluminium intake plenum.
It will have a custom intercooler with 2.5 inch inlets either side merging and on to a 3 inch single outlet.
It has a 60mm thick Cosworth radiator with a alloy turbo hot water cooling radiator before being returned to a custom aluminium water expansion tank.
Custom 2.5 inch exhaust down pipes merging into a single 4 inch stainless exhaust.
Management will be done using a Megasquirt MS3x ecu with sequential coil on plug and staged sequential injection on 12 injectors.

This however is on hold right now as I’m in the process of getting the parts required to upgrade my wife’s 2.8 Sharan 4motion to a turbocharged 3.2 BUB engine.

    It certainly is.
There are a few bits and bobs that I’ve missed of the list too.

like I sad before, manufacturers just don’t build vehicles to my satisfaction unfortunately and rather than just going for concourse spec I prefer to adapt and overcome the shortcomings if you know what I mean.

It’s taken a hell of a time to get it up to that spec but yes it’s a fair piece of kit.
