JE's are very good. Christ they're pricey in the states!... how much is that in 's imported ?

Forged pistons are a great cushion, so you could run a bit more c.r, but you wont be loosing out with those cam specs on 11.5:1.

The 2tlr 16v I just dyno'ed peaked at 7k on pussy cams, lost 1hp at 7,4. We set the hard cut at 7,6 in defence of unknown valve train components... my brief was to fit t/b's, not blow it up!

In your view, 11.5:1 is about right for 11.5mm lift 268/276 cams?
I really have no idea...new territory for me!

What's your definition of 'pussy cams' out of interest?

What sort on numbers was it making?
    Can you say?

My current cam set-up (268 in, std ABF ex) makes peak power at 6850 and seems to hold quite well, and peak torque at around 5900 which then drops fairly fast.

I *think* I paid $500 for mine, in round numbers (83.5mm 16v 11.3:1 jobs) buying them in the states, and bringing them back in my bag, along with Rods and ARP bolts. They were bought from Int. Engineering.

It was almost exactly a year ago.

    EDIT: Found it.

    JE 83.5MM Bore 92.8MM Stroke 11.3:1 CR 2.0L 16v Piston Set
    Invoice Number: 6308007
    Sku Number: JE-2L-16v-186234
    Price: $494.99

That price is without sales tax, but I got a slight discount.

If ordering pistons be careful to specify exactly what type you need. Sounds obvious but there are quite a few options for short / long block and the gudgeon pins are different sizes.
You can now get a 159mm rod with 20mm (std 21mm) gudgeon pin and use short block pistons (lower deck height than tall block) and diesel crank.
The lower deck height of the short block piston is made up by the increase in stroke from the diesel crank.

JEs currently in mine IIRC + Mahle and Wiseco in previous builds.

Tbh, I treat them all as much of a muchness. What really is the difference to us? Min threshold quality, and after that, it's all on price.

    I can indeed... it belongs to Jon Saxon of Rubber Duck magazine ( http://www.rubberduckmag.com/ ) and it made 189hp @7000, 187 @ 7400. Peak torque is 150ib/ft @6000, with 141ib/ft @ 5000, 143ib/ft @7000.... so a fair spread.

The cams only have .050 tho lift @ tdc.
