Have recent ABF swap with complete change over to K-jet,runs very well but has a lot of induction noise which sounds cool but you kinda get sick of it.
I don't have the aircleaner preheat hose to exhaust manifold connected...could that be the reason ? if I disconnect the vacuum line and plug it will the aircleaner internal flap stay closed and reduce the noise ,cheers.

can give it a try for sure, I never bother even hooking them up as in our climate it doesnt really make all that much difference.

if its still a bit too loud make sure you have all the cold air intake snorkel and headlight surround in place that should help

Yea ,I have never hooked them up in the past, the hose for mine has seen better days besides ,car starts and idles nice without it.
Good point about the front ,the panel is there but there appears to be a seal missing between the airbox and it,I have a noticeable gap.
Will address that issue with some closed cell foam or similar, should help to move the noise from the engine space to the front of the car right ?.
    Cheers.

for the late one theres a snorkel pushed into the hole in the front of the lower airbox which then slots into the headlight surround, often this is removed to get more induction noise. if missing may be a struggle to get another as its usually binned but if you shop around should be able to find another eventually if not the snorkel the whole lower half. the digifant 8v lower section is the same as late 16v.

IIRC this type has a foam O ring though I cant see it in ETKA, should be easy enough to make one if thats what you're missing
