in my mk1 ive got one of those fischer cassette holders, you know the old spring loaded jobbies that fit in the dash, ive had them on previous mk1's and allways whacked them on ebay and got decent money for them. anyway, i just pulled it out and realised the big gaping tray loooks a bit guff in a mk1, but the tape thing is redundant with cd's now being the norm. so i thought it would be quite cool to get some of that black foam stuff, the stuff you see in cases that hold specific items. you cut it to hold and protect the item. sometimes guns! well, if you open the cassete tray and cut off the 2 lugs you could fit all sorts into them. with a kind of factory fit. theres 5 trays so i'm thinking 1. ipod 2. a slimline mobile phone 3. could probably get a slim digi cam in there. 4. maybe a spare house key. 5. maybe a some buisness cards or tesco petrol card or summat. 6. maybe a tidy display of guitar pics asi allways loose em. any other ideas of things that may look a bit trick, i mean if nothing else it keeps things from rattling around in the cubby holes. what would be the trickest thing i could have in them. could even design it so the little red lights work when the items in there. i'm going for it, i'll update with pics when ive put a few ideas in place.
good idea, just dont get into the habbit of leaving all the stuff in your car. might not be there when you return to your car someday!
that a good idea mate you could have a space for a lighter coz always seem to lose mine(i dont like the car ones ) or a locking wheelnut key if would fit
