How much would you say it cost you each year to run your car on track days / racing??

I'm just interested weather you know roughly how much each track day cost?

I'm going only for the basics, I don't want to compare your yearly servicing, insurance (unless you you pay per track day) or replacement parts cos I know those things could be endless

Just one of those things thats interested me!

i have to pay a bit more of track days as i live in jersey and i have to travel to france for mine.

However for motorsport eg springing and hillclimbing over here 38 entry, plus fuel, plus any repairs.

as for tyres, slicks if u wanna go fast, or part worn road tyres if u wanna bottom about!

(i'll hopefully have slicks for my next track day, but still take a spare set of rims and tyre to bottom about in!!

The last tintop I looked after the owner reckoned the absoloute basic cost to run for a season was 12-15k.

Places like Brands, Snett, Donny etc i have to do over 2 days so the cost is higher.

    Track day 150-200
    Car fuel 50
    Van fuel60
    Tyres and brakes 150 (perday)
    B&B 50
    Food and bar bill 60
    Odd's and sod's30

    [xxx] Thats 550-600 per day

A one day trip to Combe is about 400 ish

After working that out im off to kill myself [:^(]

    Sorry....

well thats interesting, I'd guesstimate about 300-350 a day

that without building the car, and major maintenance [8(]
    I know it's worth every penny though [:$] [:D]

    Good question.

Ignoring cost of the day & geting there etc as that all differs- from entry at 100 to 350 per day & travel from say at 5 to get there/back to say 70.

So I'd say for each day its been pretty much a set of pads at 30 & a tank of juice at say 30 & an oil change at roughly 12 per day.

    =

    72

I've had a set of worn road tyres that somehow with carefull swapping about ive had about 4 days out of, illigal for road now- but still got some track life left so call it roughly 5 days on 150 of tyres = roughly 32 per day.

Killed 1 slick in 2 half days use= 20 so call it =10 per day

    +
    32
    72
    10

    114 per day in consumbles

aghh im sure there is more so stopping adding up now!

The setting up of a car so it can take track abuse tho, & teh upgraditus as you improve the set up- now thats a different & rather higher budget question! ;)

Costs similar to the above i suppose. All approx.
    Trackday costs - 100-200
Petrol, inc there and back - 90
    1/2 a set of pads - 15
minimal wear to slicks - 10
Most trackdays for me need a overnight stay so - 50
    Grub and beer - 40
Extra running costs for bits that fall off - Ave 25

So (gulp) about 380 and i try to do about 1 trackday a month, so

no wonder i'm always skint. [:^(]

    Cadwell: aprox cost.....
    2x 888's = 183
    2x 1/2 worn 48's on the rear = 125
fuel on circuit = 90 (200 miles on circuit)
fuel to get to circuit and back = 30
    fuel for van = 20
    track day cost 120

total aprox 550 and the same for Croft as the front 48's cost more than the 888's [8(]

suddenly part worn competition tyres, slicks and colways seem like a good idea for trackdays...

I use part worn slicks which cost anywhere between 15-35 each and if you run them down to the canvas i usually get between 4-6 trackdays out of them.
