how much HP can a 2003 gti 1.8t handle?

    does anyone know how much HP a 2003 1.8t can handle on stock internals?

    i always thought 300 was the (sensible) max for fwd?

    isnt there a 600bhp MK III FWD? i think the front tyres are about 2 foot wide or summin though!
    Is golfboy chris running 300 odd bhp through the front on his MK II? if so, would a MK IV have better traction because of its extreme weight! :lol:

    sorry, just re read the post and it doesnt ask a sensible power for a fwd but what the engine will take!

    audi single seater race serious used 1.8t engine and ran at 300bhp and 350 overboost for limited overtaking and didn't have a single engine failure in the season.

    I've got 200ish HP at the mo. I've been told that i can take it to 230 HP. Trouble is i've got no traction as it is!!!!! :lol:

    Bill had 325 bhp on his Ibiza when it was running standard internals.

    joe_g yeah standard internals as it was a sealed engine series, cars came form factory as far as i know with only suspension and aero being adjustable to keep the racing close

    Didn't Jabba make a blue Mk4 with 400 horses? I thought the guy with the yellow beezer bought that too?

    Bill's is about 333bhp (member of "off the clock" club at tsr)

    Golboy Chris isn't far behind that either (270bhp ATW last Nov so probablly more now)

    Hmm, I was watching the Formula Palmer Audi the other day, they were talking about 350BHP with 400BHP on overboost for next year ....

    mines runs on stock 225 internals... makes plenty of power for a FWD car IMO. :)

    Plenty of power!!!!!!! add wings & you'll bloody take off :clap: , corners like the batcar with an anchor in tow ;)
