    out of a passat, lots of work!
    block & wiring/control units only bit's you'd use

    So is a golf/leon/a3 best then?

    Just looking for the most cost effective way and easiest way too do it.

    Yep, they`d be your best bets, since they have the engine mounted transversely, like your Mk2.

    The problem with Passats and A4s is the engine is longitudinally mounted, so the manifolds, turbo, gearbox, etc are useless to you, and you`d need to source Mk4/Leon/A3 parts to convert anyway.

    Cool, will keep an eye out for a rear ended one ooo errr matron

    Back to the other question...

    How much work would be involved to use the dash, loom , gb, running gear and obviousley engine in a 87 mk2 valver.

    The reason i ask is that my loom is fecked and it would be cheaper than a QPENG kit as i would have the full loom out of donor car.

    Anything is possible if you have the skill and time. Theres a thread on here with someone has done what you're saying with aircon also.

    You don`t have to use the dash though. Get the ECU defeated, and you can keep all your standard dash/clocks.
