Well that I can't argue about ;) it wasn't so much win in a fight just in general it shows the two different types of physique you can get very well

You like big muscley men to snuggle upto then eh?

Can tell from the way the muscles are formed and from what I've read from both of you, about your lifestyles.. as I say its just interesting to actually see the differences mainly. Profs built bigger, your build in a more rounded way.

In response to profs post about "huh rippsy you make no sense" I'll elaborate

The muscles on prof's back that you can see are larger, more rounded, on sutherlands there are a lot of smaller muscles (also groups of muscles much harder to exercise using just weights) which are showing, which makes the larger muscles not stand out as much. Thus leading to the "prof has bigger muscles and is probably more 'cuddley' but sutherlandm will have more staying power :p

Not saying either is better/worse, just diferrent!

    Wee long post...

    Cheers Rippsy

rippsy, go look at an anatomy textbook, Sutherland does not have more individual muscles, we all have the same ones, just he is at a little lower body fat than me so they show a bit more seperation

I have much bigger muscle mass on the back and very solid spinal erectors from lots of pullups, rows, deadlifts and overhead squats

staying power is a function of training, your body adapts to help you survive, but we aren't overly evolved from 200,000 years ago

so my body thinks i'm carrying wildebeast home for tea most of the time, whereas Matt is running after them then standing on their back.

overhead squat but i have weights on the bar

    deadlifts like this guy

You said the same thing I did but with proper names for muscle groups so you do understand what I was pointing out :p

I meant more of the smaller muscles we're visable due to his lower body fat and because some of major ones in his back we'ren't as big as yours which was dwarfing them and making them hard to see etc..

Just different ways of expressing the same thing

    Cheers, Rippsy

Prof - Come on, you've been showered with compliments so far.
Can you not take ONE different opinion at all?

We both workout in different ways, you are bulkier and have plenty of muscle mass, I'm more toned, less bulky and probably fitter cardiovascular wise.

    So what?

You want the Arnie look, I prefer the Brad Pitt in fight club look.

You can bench/squat more, I can do more press ups and dips.
You can probably kick **** in an arm wrestle, I can do all sorts of gymnastic style upper body stuff.
I think we have both done okay at getting there.

No need to resort to thinly disguised insults really - We both have a similar mindset so surely that's cool?
Or are you upset that you're not the ONLY one that looks after themselves?!

I actually met prof though this board as we both follow John Berardi/Precision Nutrition, and he hasn't ever been upset at me calling him a ginger weakling, I know anatomy and nutrition and will respond to him with an informed argument, and he is an actual professor so maybe hes a social retard and only comfortable talking to people with similar intellect in his specialist area?

    ;)

Eat more, the bizarre buffalo "analogy", etc.

Nothing of the sort from me.

I'd be more than happy for a dips/press ups comp.
I was known as the "press up machine" at KBing...

One to try Prof (you may know of it) - The "Chinese Press up"

Kneel back into a wall (on balls of feet, touching the base of the wall), put your hands in a diamond (thumbs and first fingers touching) on the floor touching your knees, then move a "diamonds" length away with your hands (about 10 inches or so).

Put your head in that diamond. Straighten your legs (so you are in an inverted "V") then do press ups in this position.

It's the most intense press up I have found and my favourite when I taught the training side at KBing.
Still get phoned by the instructor to see if I have any new killer moves!

Cool - Hope the definition makes sense.

That article is cool but rather worrying and slightly ruined by the "get more women" bit at the end!

I taught kickboxing for a while and concentrated on the physical side while the instructor did the techniques side.

The competitions I have done are the MOST exhausting things I have EVER done by miles - Worse than Surf Life Saving Ironmans, worse than RM Officer selection, etc.
A hell of a buzz but total physical exhaustion to the point where you can't even lift your arms up.

Great way to demonstrate technique and fitness over brute strength though - Thrashed a 14.5 stone bloke because he was too slow. Bloody hurt when he hit me though.

    And Prof - run/cycle more...

I do 10 miles a day on very hilly terrain.

And often run about 4 miles.

And usually surf at least 3 times a week, two hours a go.

And train with weights 3 times a week.

So you still need to run/cycle more....
