tyre shaving has been around for ages, I remember seeing/reading about a bug,may have been a karmann ghia show car with shaved lettering way back in the early 90's didn't really take of then *edit* i'm pretty sure it was steve kays custom wizard roadster

That was some nobber on VWVortex who decided to paint his brakes, but didn't realise that painting your brakes meant just doing the calipers, not the disks... I don't think he ever lived it down.
