how to remove the whole gear stick and mounting

    Does anyone have any tips or know how to remove it .Am wanting to mount inside the car to raise it up on a mount

    Nige has done this and quite a common mod. Not seen to many how to guides though. Be interested also to see people's posts on this one

    Right, sorry about the delay.

    Deal simple really, just unbolt the shofter from underneath the car, you may have to remove the exhaust to do so and disconnect the cables from the shifter tower.

    Fab some sort of `frame` in the cabin and then secure the tower to that. Initially, I just drilled holes and used gromets for the hole in the bulkhead to pass the cables through, but now use the proper thing from and MR2.

    This is my tower raised on some 10mm tube.

    Far better on a track car, it falls easier to hand when reaching for the gearlever :thumbup:
