yeah an honest 20hp isnt easily come by , the cost of a decent flowed head and cam would be more than a 2.0ltr from a junk car

I upp'ed my power in my mk1 from the stock 1.8 DX engine at 123bhp to 140bhp by fiting a 2l bottom end and cam.

    HI,

    thanks for the info,

2.0 L conversion it's cool but is very expansive, in'italy is not easy find the parts and the workshop is more expansive for make this work!

    if change the cams?(7/8hp)
exist a bigger throttle? If possible modified my throttle?
How can I increase the fuel and fuel pressure?

    thanks

you could go big valve head with a wild cam, larger Audi throttle body.

not much you can do with the std K JET system to gain any real power out of it for decent money.

I don't know how much a 2l conversion would be in Italy, but the other route, listed above, would be as expensive in parts.

what Audi I look for the throttle?

audi throttle and cams it's good modified, approximately 15hp?

same Audi that you can rob the brake carriers from.
the old 80's and 100's, the ones with the same DX engine in the bay. 2.2 from memory?

think you'd be lucky to get 15bhp from that....

    A 16v swap :thumbup::lol:

he said he wanted more power.

but if a simple 2l swap is to much money, will a 16v be any more economical?

An extra shim or two in the fuel pressure reg on the side of the metering head, and advancing the timing accordingly netted me 17bhp. ;)
