    Hi,

I've now bought an ABF 2.0 16v engine and gearbox (looks like a mk2 box but he's gonna find out for me) to fit in a mk2 (if I can ever find a cheap one that isn't rotton!)

Anyhoo if anyone can answer these questions I'll be grateful..

    1) I didn't get any mounts with the engine/box. Can I use mk 8v mounts and subframe (I realise it may catch on the bonnet)

2)Can I use the mk2 dash clocks? speedo, tacho etc.

3)Can I just take off the PAS pulleys and pump if it's going in a non PAS mk2.

4)Will I need a 90 spec fuse box for the loom to just "plug in"?

    Any help appreciated.

    Ian.

    1) you can use MK2 mounts

    2) As far as I know, yes you can

    3) Does this engine have the serpentine belt setup? I'd keep that setup if you can as its better. Try and get all the MK3 non pas serpentine bits.

    4) You can use either, its just more fiddly with the older loom.

Not much help, but better than non!! :)

get a 90 spec car, so you dont have to hack the loom about, or was it already in a mk2 and is the loom already hacked?

cheers folks, the loom looks original so must have come out of a 90 spec.

I'll try and find a 90 spec car to fit it to but as it's gonna be a track car predonimantly I'm not gonna spend megga bucks on a shell, so it might end up going in an earlier model.

@ Enigmatik33, where in scotland are you? I'm up in aberdeen so might give you a pm if I end up with a pre 90 spec car...

    Ian.
