mileage doesn't bother me, i always fix my cars myself anyway no matter what happens to them. i think i'll be looking for a new turbo, then i can chip it. other than that, a 150pd lump should fit with a bit of work
I'm trying to get my mum to buy a lupo diesel, but shes a snob when it comes to second hand cars and wants a new one - the fox - I'm trying to bring her round.
Doing about 20k a year (up to 40k miles now) in my soot chucker. Didn't like it at first but now I find all but the pokiest petrols too weedy at low rpm now. Even quite like the turbo whistle -Sort of Top Gun stylee!
Well, just done a 4 hour round trip to pick it up. I knew the seller was at Pipewerx, but didn't expect him to be Ian Birch himself!! legend. I'm now kicking myself for not buying the bike too, stunning GSXR streetfighter for a bargain. should have bid on it.... Car is very grubby, needs a hell of a lot of TLC. Not in bad nick at all, just really grubby, it's just been used and used by the looks of it. Interesting receipt from a year ago for nearly a grand!! new MAF, N75 vlave, and other stuff to cure a "loss of power" problem. It obviously still never got fixed as it's as flat as a fart, no boost at all. So as suspected, the turbo is probably shagged. VAG COM'ed it and it had 2 faults, cam sensor non existant, and "negative deviation" on the boost controller. cleared both and reset the ecu to default values. they haven't come back, so we'll see what it's like in the morning and what turns up in the next few days on the error codes. I never expected it to be perfect for the money, but it's still a very straight car, and half the price of one with half the mileage.....
He loves the street fighter look,I was there last week getting the polo done he has some really nice 2w machinary
